I would like to say Pune 52 came as a blessing & a turning point in the life of Sai Tamhankar. Neo noir is a genre tried rarely in Marathi. Pune 52 is a present day film were the tensions & complexities of our contemporary society are seen vividly. We also see the Neo Noir flavour of Pune 52 in the camera movements. The use of titled camera angles, interplay of light and shadows, unbalanced framing , blurring of the lines between the good and the bad. Jeremy Reagan has done excellent camerawork. The entry scene of Sai Tamhankar speaks a lot. The use of soft lightning is a key here.
